Advisor to the Royal Court and Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah, attended the signing today of a joint cooperation program between KSrelief and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.

The program was signed by the center’s Assistant Supervisor General of Planning and Development, Dr. Aqeel Al Ghamdi, and by the Secretary General of the Saudi Commission, Dr. Ayman Assad Abdo.

The program aims to encourage cooperation between the two parties in volunteer, humanitarian and relief work.  One program goal is to provide volunteer opportunities to Commission employees, who can earn volunteer certificates for their participation; volunteer service may count as training hours to fulfill the Commission’s Saudi Competence Certificate program. Offering exchange programs in training, humanitarian, relief and social fields will also strengthen participation in cooperative activities between to the two organizations; these experiences could include conferences, workshops, meetings and exhibitions. In addition, the two organizations’ electronic systems could also be linked to make it easier to verify classification certificates for health commission staff and support KSrelief’s volunteer program.

The Commission’s Secretary General said in a recent press statement that “the Commission is honored today to sign such a program that serves common goals. The Commission supervises all graduate programs in health, medicine and nursing.  A lot of these trainees have the desire to do volunteer work.”  He also expressed confidence that the Commission regards the center as a safe and appropriate venue for its volunteers.

The Secretary General clarified that another component of this agreement will be services provided to KSrelief by the Commission, including revising health practitioners’ classifications and certifying their professional permits.

He expressed his happiness about much KSrelief has achieved in a short time, adding that the Commission considers that the center has achieved a pivotal role in the Kingdom, and that the center’s work exemplifies the role Muslims should play in serving all of humanity.

Dr. Al Rabeeah confirmed that KSrelief will coordinate with the Commission to train health practitioners to volunteer outside the Kingdom in safe areas in exchange for accredited training hours.
