DUBAI, UAE: King Salman Humanitarian aid and
Relief Centre (KSrelief) recently participated as a “Humanitarian Partner” in
the “Fourth Middle East International Dermatology & Aesthetic Medicine
Conference & Exhibition” in Dubai. The center held a seminar on the Kingdom
of Saudi Arabia’s international humanitarian work.
The
conference was opened by Humaid Al Qutami, the Director-General of the Dubai
Health Authority, on behalf of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, the Crown
Prince of Dubai.
The KSrelief
booth included exhibits about some of the many relief and humanitarian projects
being supported by Saudi Arabia through the center to help crisis-affected
people around the world.
KSrelief’s
Assistant Director for the Health and Environmental Aid Department, Dr.
Abdullah Al Wadei, led the seminar on the center’s work; he remarked that Saudi
Arabia has always been known for supporting humanitarian causes, and the
Kingdom is one of the largest single country donors in the world.
Since 1996,
Saudi Arabia has provided USD 92.4 billion to help people in need in 84
countries. KSrelief has implemented 1,057 projects in 44 countries with total
funding of USD 3.5 billion. In Yemen, the center has implemented 368 projects
in partnership with 80 humanitarian actors, including UN agencies, NGOs, and
local and international organizations; projects include all sectors, including
food security, health, early recovery, WASH, shelter, protection, and
education.
