JAKARTA, INDONESIA: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) successfully concluded its first humanitarian volunteer program in Indonesia – a project that targeted thousands of beneficiary families in the Asian nation. The volunteers distributed food baskets for the holy month of Ramadan in Tangerang and Pandeglang Banten, in coordination with the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in Indonesia at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University.

This KSrelief humanitarian program received cooperation from officials of the government of Indonesia and local residents in the distribution of the food baskets; the grateful recipients expressed their appreciation for the food aid. The village chiefs expressed their thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and HRH the Crown Prince for their continued support for providing development and humanitarian assistance to the people of Indonesia.

Assistant Supervisor General of Planning and Development, Dr. Aqeel Al Ghamdi, thanked the participating team of eight volunteers for achieving success in their humanitarian mission. The volunteers were carefully selected from a list of applicants on the KSrelief volunteer website; local volunteers came from the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in Jakarta and residents of the beneficiary villages.

Dr. Al Ghamdi also thanked the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Jakarta, village residents, and Indonesian government agencies for their important roles in the success of the program, and for their cooperation in identifying those most in need of assistance.
