KSrelief Signs a Joint Agreement to Drill 290 Wells in Niger

King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) signed a joint cooperation agreement with a civil society organization to drill 290 wells in Dosso, Tillabéri, Tahoua, Maradi and Zinder cities, Niger. The agreement cost is around USD 3,000,000 and will benefit 393,390 people. KSrelief’s Assistant Supervisor General of Operations and Programs, Eng. Ahmed Al Baiz, signed the agreement at KSrelief’s headquarters in Riyadh.

Under the agreement, 31 deep artesian wells, 99 medium-deep artesian wells, and 160 surface wells with a hand pump will be drilled; along with all their accessories, including tanks and solar energy systems. The local community will be provided with training. 

The main objectives of the agreement is to provide drinking clean water in targeted areas in Niger; to help in alleviating the suffering and burdens of families who are traveling to get water; and to contribute to establishing stability and social security by providing water that meets the needs of everyone.

The aid was provided as part of the relief and humanitarian efforts provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through KSrelief, providing vital assistance to millions of people in need throughout the country.
