KSrelief Participates in Warsaw Humanitarian Expo in Poland

WARSAW,
POLAND: A delegation from King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre
(KSrelief) participated in Warsaw Humanitarian Expo (WHE) 2019; the delegation
was headed by the Supervisor General of KSrelief, Dr. Abdullah Al Rabeeah. The
Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Poland, Mohammed Hussain Madani was with the
delegation.
The
Expo is being held under the patronage of Polish President Andrzej Duda. WHE is
a place for open debate on global trends in humanitarian and development
activities. It aims to increase the involvement of the business community in
humanitarian efforts around the world, and create a platform for joint business
of businessmen, non-governmental organizations, and public institutions; with
enhancing the participation of private sector in the project and procurement
market.
The
United Nations agencies of World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations
Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR),
Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and UNICEF participated in the Expo. The
European Union, The World Bank, International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC),
non-governmental international and polish organizations and others also
participated in the Expo.
The
WHE is an opportunity to directly communicate with representatives of Polish
organizations working in the humanitarian field.
The
Expo is divided into six sectors, which are:
1.
Logistics & communication – communication
technologies, spedition services and means of transport
2.
Medical equipment – disease prevention,
decontamination and health prophylaxis
3.
Shelters – tents, shelters, residential
containers and water purification systems
4.
Security – individual and collective security
systems, munitions detection and clearance systems
5.
Food – producers of food, seeds, fertilization
systems and crop cultivation
6.
Agencies – aid agencies and nongovernmental
organizations
KSrelief organized a seminar and exhibition, as
well as a panel discussion entitled "Health in Danger" in the WHE.
