KSrelief Signs Agreement for Programs to Combat Blindness in Five Countries

RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) signed an agreement today with Al Basar International Foundation to implement projects to combat blindness and the diseases which cause it in five countries for a total cost of USD 2,310,000. 

The agreement was signed by KSrelief’s Assistant Supervisor General of Planning and Development, Dr. Aqeel Al Ghamdi, and the Secretary General of Al Basar International Foundation, Dr. Adel bin Abdulaziz Al Rashoud.

Dr. Al Ghamdi stated that according to the agreement, 41 medical campaigns would be implemented with the participation of Saudi volunteer teams and doctors in Yemen, Bangladesh, Sudan, Nigeria and Pakistan. Approximately 16,400 surgeries are expected to be performed, 205,000 people will be examined and 41,000 pairs of eyeglasses will be dispensed; the total number of beneficiaries will be around 262,400.

Dr. Al Ghamdi added that this agreement is part of the extensive humanitarian commitment made by the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to alleviate the suffering of people in need around the world.
