KSrelief Distributes Aid to Sudanese Flood Victims in the Nile River State

NILE RIVER, SUDAN: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief
Centre (KSrelief) recently distributed relief aid to flood-affected residents
of the Nile River State in Sudan. 
Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Sudan, Ali bin Hassan Jafar,
the state’s Governor-designate, Major General Abdul-Mahmoud Hammad Hussein, and
a number of other public and private-sector leaders from the area were also in
attendance. 
During the ceremony, Major General Abdul-Mahmoud Hussein
praised the strong ties between Saudi Arabia and Sudan, and thanked the Custodian
of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH the Crown
Prince for their ongoing support to Sudan. 
Ambassador Jafar spoke about the Kingdom’s long-standing relationship
with Sudan which, he said, was based upon common linguistic and religious
roots, adding that Saudi Arabia would always support the people of Sudan.
Dr. Abdullah Al Tahami from the Alegtinam Organization for
Human Development expressed his appreciation for KSrelief’s assistance; he
added that KSrelief will also provide 100,000 boxes of dates and 24,000 food
baskets to people in need. The airlift to Sudan included 1,000 tents, 6,000
blankets, 2,000 rugs, and 1,500 food baskets, in addition to five tons of
medicines and medical equipment. The aid will be distributed to the states of
Khartoum, River Nile and White Nile.
KSrelief team have visited areas which have suffered serious
infrastructure damage in the River Nile state, helping to distribute tents,
blankets, rugs, and food baskets to the people still living there.
